As with all Kindle app updates to my Android tablet, I calmly update and then open the app to make sure that it works. I haven’t really been looking for any additional features. But this latest update added a feature that I’ve really needed. It gives your Kindle app a ‘Send to Kindle email address’!
Before you laugh at how dumb that sounds, consider that until now, Android devices were forced to use alternate apps to read non-Kindle books. Now we will be able to keep all our content in one library. Just email your book or document to your Kindle and if you have set archiving, it will be added to your Personal Document library as well as sent to your device.
Amazon is not shouting about the new update, but the details are on the Kindle Personal Document Service page. To see and set your Kindle app email settings go to the Manage My Devices page.
