Any content you purchase for Kindle from the Amazon Kindle store is eligible for return and refund if Amazon receives your request within 7 days of the date of purchase. Once a refund is issued, the item will be removed from Your Media Library and will no longer be readable on your Kindle. To request a refund and return, go to the Kindle Support page and click the Customer Service button in the Contact Us box in the right-hand column of the page. You will be able to reach Amazon via phone or e-mail.
After the 7 day window, Amazon has also accepted returns for malformed books. Contact Customer Service for either condition. -
How do I Archive books?
You can only archive books that you purchase from Amazon. Other books that you email or upload via USB to your Kindle cannot be archived. To archive, in your Home screen, navigate to the book you wish to remove from your Kindle and push the 5-way controller to the left. The name of the book dims and underneath it you will see "remove from device". Press in on the 5-way and the book will be deleted from your Kindle, and will be available for re-download when you select "Archived Items()" on your Kindle.
-
Can I export and read my Notes and Clippings off my Kindle?
Yes. Your clippings file is named My Clippings.txt and is located in the documents folder of your Kindle. Copy the file onto your computer to read and edit. I suggest that if you plan on putting the file back onto your Kindle, restrict your editing to the text of the note only, not the clipping portion taken from your content.

How do I copy a book from my computer to my Kindle?
This assumes you are using Windows XP, if you're using Vista, let me know.
Connect the Kindle to your PC
Turn the Kindle on and connect to your pc via the USB. A successful connection will update the Kindle screen with a USB icon and "Your Kindle is in USB mode...."
Your pc may popup a window that shows various file folders. The folder for Kindle BOOKS is the documents folder. If you do not get the popup window, don't worry, we'll get back to it.
Locate the Books on PC
In Windows Explorer, open the location on your pc where you downloaded the books.
Highlight your books and from the Edit menu select 'Copy to Folder'.
Copy to Kindle
In the Copy Items Window that pops up, use the scroll on the right to go to the top of the window. Click on the minus sign to the left of My Documents to collapse the tree. You should now see a list of drives on your pc. One will be labeled Kindle followed by a drive letter [Kindle (F:)]. Click the plus sign to the left of Kindle to expand it's tree. Click on documents, then click the Copy button -

(Member Question)How do I delete archived items for kindle for ipod. I can delete them but then it shows on my kindle as archived and I don't want them in the archives either.
The only way to get a book removed from your Archives is to return it within the 7 day return period. Other than a return, the book will remain in your Archives.
-
(Member Question)I do not have my USB cable with me. Can I upload a book from my SD card into my Kindle? How??? I am in Nicaragua with a first generation Kindle, and it won't recognize the material on the SD card.
I'm sorry, without a USB cable or wireless capability, there is no way to get a book from Amazon to your Kindle. It sounds like your books are on your SD card. If that is the case, change the view on your Kindle to view SD books.
You may simply need to adjust your Show and Sort settings on the Kindle Home screen to make sure you are displaying ALL files. Also, any files you transfer via USB to your Kindle 1 must be in a supported file format, placed in the appropriate folder in your Kindle or your SD card, and either registered to your Kindle DRM.
