What programs are there to convert books or documents for use on the Kindle?

The most popular programs are MobiPocket Creator and Calibre. Amazon will also convert files for you, but there is a minimum $ .15 charge for each item and the charges go up $.15 for each MB
MobiPocket Creator can convert - .HTML, .PDF, .DOC, .TXT
Calibre can convert the same files formats as MobiPocket Creator plus .LIT, EPUB, .ODT, .RTF
